Q DIET PROJECT PART II Using the 3-day food records that were completed for part I of this project, you will now proceed with completing a nutrient analysis using the NutritionCalc Plus program through the Connect site. Directions 1. Log-in to Connect as you normally would to complete LearnSmart Activities and to read the textbook. 2. On the right-hand side of the screen click on “diet analysis tool Launch NutritionCalc Plus (NCP)” 3. Proceed with setting up a profile and entering foods using the posted directions in Canvas (see Diet Project Part II Connect/NCP Directions). 4. Download a PDF file of All Daily Reports, from the reports tab. 5. Use these reports to write an evaluation of the 3-day diet analysis (see below). 6. Submit two files to the Canvas drop box: All Daily Reports and Evaluation. Evaluation In 3 pages or less, discuss the findings of the diet analysis. • How does your diet compare to the recommendations? • Does it reflect your typical diet? • What nutrients were deficient (low) versus excessive (high) compared to recommendations? • What might these deficiencies/excesses indicate in terms of disease risk? • Are there any changes that you plan to make based on this evaluation? • What did you learn overall from this project?
